Sock toss into the bowl

How to do it

Roll three or four pairs of socks into balls and set a bowl a couple of metres away.

Throw underarm — scoop the hand low and let go early. Show it once, exaggerated, then let them try.

Move the second bowl further back and make it worth more. Counting the score adds a number-sense layer to a purely physical game.

Why it works

Underarm throwing is easier to control than overarm and gives a preschooler an early success with aiming, which is what keeps them practising. Two bowls at different distances introduce risk and reward without changing the physical skill.
